A consortium of New Jersey families with loved ones living with disabilities formed PLAN|NJ in 1988 to address their shared concerns for the quality of their loved ones’ future support. Today, family members still play a vital role in helping our loved ones thrive.
Our by-laws call for at least 51% of our Board of Directors to consist of relatives of people with an intellectual, developmental, or physical disability, or a mental health challenge. Our strong beginnings and ongoing commitment ensure the needs and desires of PLAN|NJ’s clients and families remain at the center of all our programs and services.

OUR MISSION
PLAN|NJ’s mission is to help family members of people with disabilities answer the question:
“Who will care for my loved one when I'm gone?”
We coordinate the supports needed by individuals with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities, and challenges with mental health, including people with autism, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, severe mental illness and more.
