LINDA BUCH

Carla Ponn is retired from a career in investments and risk management at Prudential Financial, where she had oversight for the investments (mostly fixed income) backing Prudential’s insurance products. Her experience includes managing a team, authoring investment policy statements, setting limits, approving large or risky transactions, utilizing quantitative credit models, and making private placement loans. She also signed off on sections of Prudential’s quarterly financial statements and presented regularly to rating agencies, regulators and the Investment and Risk Committees of Prudential’s Board. She has an undergraduate degree from MIT in economics and an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School. Carla lives with her husband, Randy, in Clinton Township. Her adult son, David, is disabled and lives in a group home in West Orange. Carla has served on the boards of several nonprofit agencies that provide group homes and other services to adults with disabilities.

The stories of three families with loved ones who have disabilities and who use PLAN|NJ's trust administration and care coordination services are told through interviews conducted in their homes by Executive Director Ellen Nalven.

OUR MISSION

PLAN|NJ’s mission is to help family members of people with disabilities answer the question:

“Who will care for my loved one when I'm gone?”

We coordinate the supports needed by individuals with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities, and challenges with mental health, including people with autism, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, severe mental illness and more.
